Clifton Stevenson (Sheilds) Brown(September 1, 1907- January 1986) was born to Ella Mae and her first husband, Nathan Sheilds. Clifton was born in Attala, Mississippi before moving to Beat 5 in Leake, Mississippi. According to the 1930 Census, Clifton lived with Isaac and Ella and worked as a farm laborer. In the 1940 Census, Clifton was listed as the head of the household with his wife May Brown and four children: D.L Brown, Mazell Brown, Barbie Jane Brown, and Maynice Brown. David Brown was born on August 22, 1910 and died August 22, 1910. Alice May Brown Barnes (November 8, 1911- November 18, 1974) married Frank Harvey Barnes (May 30, 1908- November 11, 1971) in 1931. Frank worked as a contractor. They had five children, Clifton Barnes (April 27, 1932- April 27, 1932), Thelma Mae Barnes (February 17, 1933- 1992), Willie Frank “Buddy” Barnes (March 26, 1936- October 28, 2013), Mary Barnes (October 12, 1938- September 11, 1992), and Thomas Russell Barnes (June 24, 1945- April 27, 2015). Alice and Frank first built a home in Lauderdale County, MS but then moved to Center Hill, MS when Thelma Mae was born. Ultimately, the family would move to Montgomery, Alabama where Frank died of lung cancer in 1971.
Bessie Gray Brown Perkins (July 22, 1914- February 15, 1991) was one of the twins in the Brown household born in Meridian, MS to Isaac and Ella Mae in 1914. She married Obediah Bardy Perkins (February 1, 1910- December 22, 1992) on April 18, 1931. Obediah served in the US Army during WWII. They had two children, Bonnie Mae Perkins (February 1, 1935- deceased) and Virginia A. Perkins (July 6, 1948- July 10, 1982). Bessie Gray and Obediah are buried together in Leake, MS at New Zion Baptist Church. Essie Ray Brown(July 22, 1914- July 31, 2007) was also born in Meridian, MS on July 22, 1914 to Isaac and Ella Mae. Essie married her first husband, Glover Miller Sistrunk (July 28, 1912- June 29, 1988) on May 21, 1931. Glover and Essie had four children: Mary Frances Sistrunk (April 10, 1932- April 27, 1932), Peggy Neil Sistrunk (September 5, 1937- October 13, 2001), Elwin Ray Sistrunk (July 30, 1941- March 4, 2002), and Robert Clyde Sistrunk (June 16, 1943- September 22, 2019). Essie remarries in 1957 to Emmitt Ardel Keen (July 12, 1912- January 5, 1998). Essie Ray outlives all six of her siblings, both of her spouses, her parents, and all but one of her kids. She died in 2007 at the age of 93 and she is buried next to Emmitt in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Duffee, MS. James Robert Brown(September 5, 1915- January 5, 1953) was the fifth born to Isaac and Ella Mae. James worked as a farmer with his father before marrying Doris Scarborough on April 3, 1946. Doris married James after her first husband, Raymond Lester Brown, died in the war. James and Doris lived in Leake, MS where they had three children: Deliliah McMillan Brown, Doris Rachel Brown (October 21, 1948- 1996), and James Calvin “Buddy” Brown (April 26, 1958- January 1, 1917). James died on January 5, 1993, and Doris passed on December 5, 2014. They are buried together at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Collinsville, MS. Albert Andrew Brown(May 1, 1924- July 28, 2001) is the last born of Isaac and Ella Mae. He marries briefly to Beverly Elizabeth Davis (1921- deceased) on January 17, 1943. He was Raymond's only younger sibling and had a completed 6th grade education. He remarried to Ella Louise Quinnelly (April 4, 1929- September 4, 1999) and they have two children together: Morris Andrew Brown (October 9, 1949- December 232, 1949) and Richard Dewayne Brown (May 1, 1953- May 5, 1953). Both children were buried in Pine Springs Cemetery in Baily, MS. Albert and Ella remain married for 52 years before she dies in 1999. They are buried together next to their children and Isaac in Pine Springs Cemetery.
